Berner supports social projects

Taking responsibility – for people and the community

Social commitment is an integral part of our corporate culture. As a company, we are committed to promoting social values and supporting people in different life situations. We are particularly keen to strengthen community spirit, create opportunities, and provide help where it is needed. Through our efforts, we want to make a positive contribution to a future worth living.

We’re in!
“Helping is powerful” is the motto of the Johanniter, who have been successfully teaching first aid to children in daycare centers, kindergartens, schools, and youth groups for years. They are supported in this by the hand puppets Jona and Joni.

To reinforce what they have learned, Johanniter has teamed up with K&L Verlag to develop an easy-to-understand coloring, activity, and workbook, a poster, and an app, which are essential components of a teaching package for children aged five to eleven. We think this is a great idea!

That’s why we support the project
The book, with its many pictures to color in, teaches girls and boys the skills they need to provide first aid in emergencies and to recognize everyday hazards in the home, during leisure activities, and in traffic.

Over 44 pages, Jona and Joni recount their experiences in the world of helping others. Using child-friendly case studies, they give tips and advice on first aid and prevention. At the same time, teachers, educators, and parents can discuss and practice the illustrations with the children. The app shows educational videos and is a digital learning progress check. It shows children whether they have solved the tasks correctly and encourages them to complete the book.

Berner Torantriebe is deeply committed to supporting social projects that are close to our hearts. That is why the Felix emergency ambulance run by the Björn Steiger Foundation is an important project that we are particularly keen to support.

It enables premature babies to be safely cared for and transported to their destination in an emergency ambulance specially equipped for their needs. The use of the Felix baby ambulance helps to improve emergency care for premature babies and save lives through calm and vibration-free transport.

Helping helpers: everyone can do something with a small contribution, so we also collected donations in kind and made them available to the DLRG so that they could distribute them in the best possible way.

In 2009, the Björn Steiger Foundation launched the “Retten macht Schule” initiative, which aims to train all students from the seventh grade onwards in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and lay defibrillation. To make this possible, schools are provided with training mannequins specially developed for this purpose, as well as a manual and a training DVD, free of charge.

We have been supporting this project since the beginning of 2018. More information about the “Retten macht Schule” initiative.

In 2023, we have once again decided to provide financial support to the Kreuzerfeld secondary school in Rottenburg. The aim of the initiative is to improve the equipment and facilities available to students in sports, thereby increasing their enthusiasm and enjoyment of physical education. Especially in this day and age, it is particularly important to get moving and not just sit in front of computers, tablets, and other devices. We are delighted to be able to play a small part in this development.

Zuhause leben e.V. is a large neighborhood assistance network for Stuttgart that offers a wide range of counseling services, with many intergenerational projects in social and cultural areas, and is the sponsor of the outpatient care service called Zuhause leben.
The focus of the volunteer and full-time work is on maintaining independent and self-determined living in the familiar home environment.
The Zuhause leben e.V. association helps neighbors with and without disabilities, regardless of age group and nationality, to get to know each other and develop enthusiasm for joint activities.
Regardless of the reason why a person needs help, the Zuhause leben e.V. association is a competent contact and supporter—and we support this with great joy and enthusiasm.
